Welcome to Watchlists. Your privacy is critically important to us. This Privacy Policy outlines the types of information we collect from you, how it is used, and the steps we take to protect it.

1. Information We Collect

We only collect the information necessary to provide and improve our service to you:

• Account Information: When you sign in using Google, we collect your name, email address, and profile picture to create and manage your account.
• User-Generated Content: We store the watchlists you create, the movies you save, and the ratings/reviews you leave on movies.
• App Usage: We collect non-personally identifiable analytics regarding how you interact with the app in order to improve user experience.

2. How We Use Information

The information we collect is used to:

• Provide, operate, and maintain our website and mobile applications.
• Enable cross-device syncing of your watchlists and movie ratings.
• Understand and analyze how you use our app to improve future features.

3. Information Sharing and Third Parties

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal identification information to others. However, we utilize trusted third-party services that assist us in operating our app:

• Firebase (Google): We use Firebase for secure authentication and database hosting. Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
• TMDB (The Movie Database): We use the TMDB API to fetch movie metadata and images. TMDB does not receive any of your personal data from us.

4. Your Privacy Controls (Public vs Private)

By default, your profile and watchlists may be public so that you can share them with friends. You maintain full control: you can toggle your profile and individual watchlists to "Private" at any time from within the app settings.

5. Data Deletion and Your Rights

You have the right to request access to or deletion of your personal data. Within the Watchlists app, you can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time via the "Settings" > "My Data" > "Delete Account" option.
